RACY DATES
In the mid to late 1980s Racy Dates terrorized New
York City with their unique blend of out of tune
guitars and slaphappy beats. Mike and Matt
manned the guitars and Eric supplied the beats,
ably assisted by Nancy on percussion and backing
vocals. Nic Winters rounded out the quintet on
bass and more backing vocals. Listen for her on
the highest harmony on "So Sad."
The first time any of the future Late Model Humans
were to hit the recording studio (at least on this
side of the Atlantic) it was in the mid-eights at
Giant Studio on 14th Street. Their first recording
session consisted of the following 6 songs
produced by "Jam master" Jay Wasco.
1. Heroine (by Matt)
I need a heroine to thrill me
A heroine, fulfill me
A heroine, come on, knock me out
2. Good, Good People (by Mike)
I bought my boy a gun today
I bought my girl a doll
We're living in the USA
Right before the fall
3. Breaking Dishes (by Mike)
You're always kissing somebody goodbye
You act like someone tells you what to do
God moves in mysterious ways
But he ain't got nothing on you
4. So Sad (by Mike)
All the days we slept away - all the same
All the nights we drank away - all the same
And the times we had
Falling in love over and over again
5. Ingrid Bergman in Black & White (by Matt)
Watching Ingrid Bergman in Black & White
What else to do on a Tuesday night?
I don't care what goes on out there
Cruel reality just don't seem fair
I live my life on a wing and a prayer
6. I Want To Stick It Out With You (by Eric)
I want to sit and just watch you
Like a TV I'm a-viewing you
I want to grab you and never let you go
I want to take you and whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
