WACKY & THE
SPANKHEADS
The first recording session by Wacky & the Spankheads, once
again with Jay Wasco producing, was done in 1988 or 89 and
consisted of the following nine songs:

Growing up (by Matt)
            When I was seventeen
I fell in love with Donna Reed
I hooked onto Frank Capra views
            What a wonderful life indeed

Run, Hide & Fly (by Mike)
            It's just like Freud said
All the good things happen in bed
But we've got nothing to hide
Except for everything we keep inside

Katie Reeves (by Matt)
            When I left that weekend
My life looked so good to me
            I'd never met a girl
Who was quite like Katie Reeves

Drugs in Jail (by Mike with Matt on the bridge)
            When she lies there sleeping
I want to know everything she's dreaming
There's nothing else in my life worth keeping
Everything else is drugs in jail

Nothing at All (by Mike)
Where were you when they opened the prison gates?
Where were you when they knocked down the walls?
What were you doing my dear friend?
            Nothing at all

All Used Up (by Mike)
I can't help thinking that you're using me
But how can you use me when I'm
            All used up?

Come Back to Me (Mike again)
            If ever you feel tired
            Of holding your breath
            While you wait for something
On the other side of death
            Come back to me.

Ingrid Bergman in Black & White (Matt's showstopper)
It's a shame, shame things have to change
I wish just one would remain the same, and that's
Ingrid Bergman in black & white

Shopping at Caldors (by Matt with Todd's deranged intro)
We won't go to Macy's, we refuse
There's only one thing that's left to do, and that's
            Shopping at Caldors
In the late 80s and early 90s Wacky & The
Spankheads provided he missing link between
Racy Dates and Late Model Humans.  Racy
Dates bassist Nic Winters went her own way and
Eric moves from behind the drums to the bass.
Current LMH drummer Todd Elder made his first
appearance with this lineup.  This was also the
last lineup to include Nancy Maher on vocals.
On October 21 & 22, 1990 the Spankheads hit the
studio for the second and last time.  This time they
went to Hot Studios on Bleecker Street and recorded
six songs.  Unhappy with the production they were
eventually remixed by Jay Wasco in February of 1993.
These are Jay's mixes:

Life on the Streets (by Matt)
     Life on the video
     Sure looks sweet
But it can't beat life on the Streets

Galway Bay (by Matt)
Shout out, rave on, drink up
     I'm going home
I'd rather be on my own and
dream of the girl that I love

Passion for Flash (by Mike)
About the time the forests were burned
They told the story of the man on the moon
And the loaves and the fishes
And what happens when you get in the way
     With your passion for flash

The Difference Between Us (by Mike)
The difference between alone and alive
Is the difference between a push and a dive
The difference between desire and design
     That's the difference between us

Berlin (by Matt)
I wanna feel the passion of the great eagle soaring
I wanna step in line on the great day dawning
I wanna learn to kill, I wanna learn to destroy
     Destroy Berlin

(I Wanna) Hold You in my Arms (by Mike)

Twenty years on bread and water
Every day I say, "it won't be too long"
I wanna hold you in my arms
I wanna hold you in my arms
     But I'm not that strong
The Spankheads in all their glory
